At the Irish Exporters Association Gala Awards Dinner on Friday evening, Irish Continental Group, Container and Terminal Division were awarded the “Maritime Services Company of the Year Award” for the 3rd year in a row!
The award seeks to highlight the significant role which Maritime transport plays in the Irish Export supply chain and to recognise the outstanding achievement in ocean freight and related services for exporters based on the island of Ireland.
We would like to congratulate and thank all our employees and representatives in Eucon, DFT and BCT for their commitment in delivering first class service that has resulted in I.C.G. winning this award again.
We thank our customers for their on-going support of our services during 2017 and we are looking forward to building on those relationships during 2018.
Eucon were pleased to launch their new Eucon Mobile App at the Transport and Logistic exhibition in Munich. Eucon are the first LoLo short sea carrier on the Irish Sea to make a dynamic app available to their customers. In today’s fast moving world where the smart phone or tablet has become an essential tool in the logistics business, it is unique that we can offer via the app immediate access to our shipping schedules and real time track and trace of the status of your shipments.
Existing customers with a log in to our web portal can use their existing credentials to logon to the App. The App is available in the Apple Store and on Google play so why not try it out and download it now!!
In the coming weeks we will be announcing further developments on the App.

Eucon Shipping and Transport Limited have completed the production of 300 New 45ft units in the CIMC factory in Nantong China. This is a continuation of the container fleet renewal program over the last 4 year which has seen the addition of 1,100 new 45ft units to the fleet since July 2012. The new units will be incorporated into the container fleet from September 2016 and will further improve the overall quality of services offered to our customers. We look forward to the addition of more Eucon green to the container fleet.
These FAQs relate to new mandatory rules, effective from 1 July 2016, concerning the requirement for shippers to verify the gross mass of a container carrying cargo.
Without a verified gross mass the packed container shall not be loaded aboard ship.

At the Gala Awards dinner in the Convention Centre, Dublin city, hosted by the Irish Exporters Association on Friday 13th November, IRISH CONTINENTAL GROUP Container & Terminal Division were announced as winner of the Maritime Services Company of the Year award.
Container freight volumes in the period from 1 July 2015 to 7 November 2015 were up 7%. Units lifted at our container ports at Dublin and Belfast were up 51%, with underlying port lifts up 5% after adjusting for Belfast VT3 concession volumes in 2015.

As part of our fleet renewal and upgrade program, Eucon is pleased to advise we have just completed the production of 200 new 45ft units to add to the fleet.
In addition we have added 30 x 45ft Reefers”The Cool Experience” to the fleet to bring the total number of reefers in the fleet to 150 units.
The Container and Terminal Division includes the intermodal shipping line Eucon as well as the division’s strategically located container terminals in Dublin and in Belfast.
Revenue in the division was up 6.5% to €57.2 million (2014: €53.7 million), EBITDA increased to €5.5 million (2014: €3.7 million) while operating profit rose to €4.1 million (2014: €2.4 million).
Total containers shipped were at similar levels to the prior year at 142,200 teu (2014: 142,700 teu) due to changes in customer route configurations. Units lifted at the division’s port facilities in Dublin and Belfast rose 11.9% to 103,700 lifts (2014: 92,700 lifts) helped by the additional operations at Victoria Terminal 3 (VT3).
Following the award of the Services Concession for the operation of a combined container terminal at VT3 in Belfast Harbour, the process of consolidating our existing terminal volumes at Belfast Container Terminal into one location at VT3 is underway. We expect the process to be completed by the end of the autumn
