Further expansion of our Container fleet

We are pleased to advise that the manufacturing of our new 400 * 45ft pallet wide containers in China has finished ahead of schedule. The containers rolled off the production floor this week and will join our European fleet in early March.

In a further piece of welcome news, we added an extra 30 * 45ft curtain sided units to our equipment pool. These specialised pieces of kit were delivered to our services in North Europe last week.

The addition of these units increases our fleet to over 4,200 pieces of kit including 140 of these specialised curtain sided units. Our equipment pool also contains a wide range of container types including flat racks, open tops and 45ft refrigerated containers.

These specialised unit types complement our fleet of dry and curtain sided containers giving our clients a superb choice of equipment to serve their needs.

Eucon welcomed the m/v Music to our weekly schedule on the 1st January 2021. The addition of this modern and efficient ship increases the carrying capacity on our weekly Eucon operated services by 17%.

The combination of our investment in new containers combined with our additional carrying capacity demonstrates our commitment to the market and delivers on our strategy as outlined in our Brexit circulations.

We continue to listen to our customers’ needs and look forward to continuous improvements to our services in the year ahead. We appreciate your ongoing support.

POC VBS Information June 2019

Eucon are pleased to relay the following information as received from  Port of Cork with regard to the roll out of container terminal Vehicle Booking System for hauliers.

Port of Cork (POC) inform us that the recently released Vehicle Booking System (VBS) APP will make drivers’ visit to the terminal faster and more efficient, using the APP means the driver only requires a single TAR to gain entry for collections and deliveries.

POC are encouraged to see that the majority of the hauliers calling at the terminal are now using mobile app. This helps them to remove/sort all the potential problems in advance.

Using POC VBS for advance bookings gives the Port, the Customer and the Haulage Company 100% accuracy at the terminal, therefore reducing delays at the gate due to inaccurate data.

The VBS allows the terminal to manage a sustained level of gate throughput during the day, this in turn will improve gate and terminal transactions for drivers.

The timeframe shows gradual implementation over the Summer months and POC should be ready for the full VBS roll out by September 2nd 2019. Please be assured that POC will work and support all haulage companies during the implementation period and operation, please feel free to contact  POC directly if you require assistance. As with all new systems, some minor issues will exist in the early stages, we hope you will work with the terminal while they try to tailor the best solution for both the drivers and the terminal.
